If you are new to competing in Topcoder challenges, and looking to learn more about how challenges work here, the following are some ways to get started:

  1. The most direct way is to search for your preferred technology stack in the challenge page, and get started with it. It's possible that you might already be skilled enough to compete well enough in a challenge.

  2. The second way is to learn common problem areas in a more targeted manner. Here I would suggest that you go through the past challenges, and see what kind of topics are common, and then prioritise your learning/revision accordingly.

  3. Participate in skillbuilder competitions to learn new tools, as well as to get some direct competing experience.

  4. If you don't see a skillbuilder competition coming up for the topic of your choice, request us here, and we might launch a practice challenge or skillbuilder competition if enough people are interested.

  5. We'll gradually have more courses in the Topcoder Academy, where you can acquire new skills in a course format.
